about that, the solo seats. Anyone tried a sprúng solution? Like a repro Pagusa/Denfeld? Apart from being proper retro they are cheaper than BMW homagae ánd sprung.

And for those who also ride two up on their FE, it was not uncommon to fit a pillion cushion behind it abeit mostly for competition purposes. For the more purist, it could be a second saddle with a hand rail fitted on the luggage rack.

Been looking and measuring but
The vintage ones need an anchoring point for the hinge ánd for the spring.
Cannot see how to make p.e. a Nimbus one work either.
Vintage Vespas though... hmm.
Anyway; has anyone fitted something sprung?

Just the homage for me mounted on "rubbber" springs..... about 30mm of spring at rear of seat..... posted about it in homage thread.... i like the homage as it looks traditionally classic.... also works well shifting body when riding fast in hills for cornering (hanging off the bike... shifting weight to the inside and or slightly forwards .... but that is when 9 to 10/10'thing.

Also, I don't pillion often, will probally get a second homage at some stage to add to the rear rack for pillion duty for the extra old BM look as needed.

I have 20mm of gel and a custom fitted sheepskin if doing 3hr plus rides..... generally, on these bikes there is cool or comfortable.... I've never seen both, so this was my solution.... much much better knee/hip comfort as well.

Mmmm....

Thanks Noel.
The rubber mountings are good and apparently durable solution. Not múch give though but definitely worth looking into this silent block approach.

WOW where did you find that sprung passenger seat?? Looks über:cool:

Found it!

and the R27 type should not present much of a challenge to fit.
The linked seller also has all the mounting hardware.
Adding hardware and two seats up it comes to about the BMW homage saddle pack.

It looks like one needs construct the swivel bracket/tower at the front and bolt a spring bracket to the rear mud guard.
I will ask #1 son if he can 3D print the swivel bracket to fit in place of the original metal lip.

Same here. Looking for a sprung solo seat for use with the stock rear fender, no "bitch pad" required by me! But a great looking seat is what I'm looking for, not the plain black one offered by BMW. Butt you can't see it when you are riding. I do like the look of the coil springs under the solo seat. All very retro. This is Wunderlich seat. $1356.95 Mounted with stock fender. I like the setup but I want a more custom seat for that kind of money. 1753474139596.png
