The reverse saga.

2022 R18 Classic
Took my 2022 classic in for the recall today ,still did not have any written information from BMW but was given a copy of the letter i should of received from them !!!!! I was informed it looks like it could be 2025 before a solution is found to replacing the module hence the module is disconnected for the safety reasons . However (again after i inquired ) i was also given the compensation offer which amounts to be 4% of the purchase value of your bike , it states that you are required to spend this on BMW accessories for the said bike which will be mounted by the dealer , we will wait to see what happens .
 
I have not received any letter or being contacted by the dealership, therefore I will continue to use my bike on a daily basis and won’t worry about a thing.
I use the reverse gear once in a while and so far it has worked flawlessly. My bike is always garaged and when I wash it up, I dry it thoroughly and apply a generous amount of water repellent/anti corrosion products. This does not happen to be connected to the reverse issue, I simply do it to avoid corrosion on hard to reach areas where the towel or wife’s hair dryer can’t reach properly.
Seriously, I don’t let this matter affect my sleep 😂😂😂

I am sure that if you buy the parts, i.e, a set of mirrors, cylinder covers etc, they won’t even batter an eye lid, if fact, they probably be amused if you ask them to fit them. 😉
 
Got the work done today. The dealer had no idea what to do about/with the $1000. Left without anything but a promise they would get back to me on how it works.
 
According to the official letter any accessories will be "mounted " take that as you read it !!!!! looking forward to some new foot boards !!!!!

This is where I'm at also. The recall was done but dealer dragging feet on compensation. Said will get back with me once they figure it out
