I've had my new, leftover 2023 R18 Pure for about 5 months now. Been working to make it into a more comfortable long-distance ride without turning it into a full bagger. Upgraded the suspension with Wilbers front and rear, Wunderlich Sport fairing and foot rests, BMW saddlebags, tank bag and engine guards, Style Rider rear guards, Akrapovic mufflers, and Denali auxiliary lights. Most recent addition was a Day Rider seat. Going to keep it setup for solo riding with a rear rack. Both the driver and the pillion seats are better looking in my opinion and much more substantial - wider, firmer, and hopefully more comfortable. Haven't given it a good test ride yet because of cooler, wet weather here in central TX. Rather than buying the more expensive Day Rider driver backrest from BMW, I contacted Mustang to see if some of their HD backrests would fit the Day Rider Seat. Happily the answer was "Yes", so I ordered the Harley Touring Backrest (#79557) from J & P Cycles and saved myself $150. Started thinking about a summer trip to tour eastern Canada - planning to meet up with my friend in Philadelphia and then continue up the East Coast to Maine into Canada - Nova Scotia, Ontario, etc. My previous touring bike was a GSA, so this will be quite a change for me. Here are a couple of photos from today.
