Well easter weekend all ready for a great run out , kitted up and once again no power to bike WTF ? , fitted a new battery three days ago , called out rescue as i have extended warranty , technician disconnects the earth cable and power comes back , after doing a diagnostic check he states there is a LIN fault from the binacle to the engine start procedure , rings up my dealership and am told they cannot look at it for five weeks another WTF ? of course they cannot state if this covered on my warranty another WTF? then the kick in the *ollocks they require £130 to investigate ? what happened to BMW seriously thinking of looking at an alternative .

What's a "LIN" fault..? Swapping out a new battery shouldn't be kicking off problems as described...

I haven't even tried starting my bike since I put it up on the KERN-STABI stand for the Winter and connected in to the trickle charger...

Fingers Crossed.. 🤞🏻

Local Information Network , apparently the speedometer binacle is the brains of the bike , when you go for start the binacle runs through its start check but is not informing the bike to start , its run the full cycle and the speedo resets back to zero , however on mine its sticking at various speeds on the clock why i don,t know lets hope mr BMW wizard can work it out .

In the absence of not knowing much.... I'd disconect the new battery, charge it, reconnect it and try again. From what I understand your old battery was drained to 0v.... so there will always be the outstanding question of what did that I guess.... corrosion on the +ve?

Anyway, BMW dealler seems like tossa's.
