I have used Lucas gear oil 70w-90 in many bike transmissions for years.

You may be correct. I'll be taking the bike to my dealer do the work since its under warranty.Maybe the vent isn't broken and it's doing what it is supposed to be doing...

Fingers Cross that they don't challenge the warranty, due to the use of incorrect specified oil weight. I doubt they can test or prove what was used, without sending a sample to a lab..will-do...
Yes, that is what's stated to use, but 75 90 is absolutely fine to use. I have 30k miles on my r18b and change my fluids every 5k. I know it's overkill but I enjoy doing it. All I ever used was liquid moly oil and 75 90 gear oil. A lot cheaper than buying the bmw brand. Here's a link for the kit. https://www.beemerboneyard.com/r18etfdoilkit1550.htmlIsn't the gear/transmission oil specification 70W-80...?
My dealer inspected and confirmed the vent was leaking...they replaced it with an updated vent. Don't know what the actual difference is but it looks very similar to the original.I'd be interested in hearing what they find or say; keep us posted.
I'm using MOTUL Gear 300 G4/G5 75w90 (changed at 34,000) in my TC and after 500 miles no leaks, 34,500 miles now so maybe that's the difference? Thanks for the heads up tho, will keep an eye on it.Turns out the transmission seep from vent was due to using 75w90 oil... my dealer changed back to 70w80 BMW spec oil and no more seep...
