Unusual loss of air

My new to me 2022 B lost 22 pounds of air in 8 days. I have riden for over 60 years and have had probably close to 50 bikes and never did I have one that leaked like this with no apparent damage. No nails, no leaking valve stem I can only conclude it’s the wheel. It’s got 25k on it and when I picked it up at the dealership the guy said I filled your tank and aired up your tires. The only bike I ever saw with a bad wheel was an 86 concours I had that the wheel leaked from the get go. Anyone else had a wheel issue?

tire shops can often repair a corroded rim, if you dare.

Externally the wheel is pristine so I wouldn’t think there was corrosion on the inside.

Put in like a bar too high and immerse the whole wheel.

Soapy water with dish soap in a spray bottle works pretty well.

Did that but no results. Talked to service and was told they have had a couple bikes come in this week where staples have punctured the tire then fell out. Says it will leak about three pounds a day and that’s what I figure I am losing. I guess I will just fill it before I ride because after just buying this I can’t afford a new tire right now.

Did you carefully spray along the edge of the tire bead. I've seen quite a few tires that leak slightly due to having those small rubber molded hairs (vent spews) that are sometimes located in the tire bead seating area. These can cause minor leaks especially when the tires are cold. I had a leak that drove me crazy because it only appeared when the temperature dropped and did not leak in the warm summer weather. It turned out that it was caused by the vent spews being folded into the tire bead seating area. When I found out what was going on I dismounted the tire and trimmed those things off with a razor blade.

You should be able to detect that type of leak. I had a leak in my trucks tire that only lost a lb or two a day - I easily found it with soapy water.

I will soap the whole tire this weekend.

Dunking the wheel will show ány leak, even small: logically. An inflatable child´s pool will do.

And then there is always fitting an inner tube.

Is it the front or back ? if the wheel has had any sort of impact it would show up on a wheel balance , and indicate the wheel is not running true .

It’s the front but no signs of impact and no vibrations
