Updated rear shock

Buggered if I know what they did on the ‘25 models, but after 9 months of ownership, I still can’t fault my rear suspension… and I haven’t adjusted it all.
I’ve ridden on good, bad and indifferent roads and never found it to be too hard or soft. In fact, it’s very Goldilocks.
Maybe the assembler was having a magnificent day when my bike passed in front of him.

My R18 took on the 2nd most venomous snake in world to save me back in 24..... that would be the Sky news headline.

My wife would say..... don't be a sook.... you ran over a brown snake when you went to get a donut (bakery ride). Generally, we live in the wife's world.

I’m new to this whole heavy cruiser thing, but I hate suspension that jolts you over bumps. The light bulb moment for me was owning a Ducati with Ohlins a few years ago. I can’t tolerate crap suspension anymore. When I test rode my ‘25 Roctane demo I was impressed by the smoothness over bumps. I would never have bought it if the ride was bad. I’m 75 kg plus gear. No idea what the earlier models ride like but I’m happy with mine.

It’s that whole 2025 rear suspension upgrade thing that I’ve been saying.
 
I'm thinking of swapping my 2024 rear shock over to the 2025 shock .... have my 10k service next week and will ask but I'm expecting $$$$.
 
THE +20 Wilbers might be the way to go. I had the Nivomat installed but the improvement is marginal compared to the hefty price.
 
I have a 23 R18 with very stiff rear spring in spite of the adjustment. Crossing a pavement seam on the highway nearly slips a disk and induces tooth aches.

My point exactly: the Nivomat line offers no improvement on pavement seam and you still need a chiropractor or a dentist afterward. It can be unsettling when riding at night as I cannot always gauge how nasty a pavement seam it can be. On regular road, the damping is indeed better but that's not where I was looking for improvement compared to OEM.
