But if you think that there’s more negatives than positives for you as a cruiser rider if you hitched your life to the Milwaukee Bandwagon, then the R 18 is pretty much all upsides and very little down. The engine is a brutal work of art that also knows when to take centre stage and when to shut the hell up. The build quality and reliability is going to be hard for any Harley to match and the bike’s refinement is something that will likely impress in the long term over and above a Harley’s charismatic “livin’ for the moment” rebel yells. No, the R 18 isn’t going anywhere in a hurry. It’s too good for that. Mark my words when I say that it’s here for the long run and similarly if you’re the kind of rider that likes long runs involving relaxed, torqued-out cruising, then you best not ignore this Berlin brute."
