Hey all, a quick questions for those who are far more mechanically savvy than me…. Can anyone tell me what the cylinder in the photos is? And also should there be a rubber pipe hanging down that is only connected at one end? A breather possibly? Anyway, any knowledge you guys and gals could impart would be appreciated.

Maybe the fuel evaporator canister? I think some forum members have removed it from their bikes and provided directions on plugging or capping off hoses or barbed connection points.

Buy a Smart-moto PVE052 unit. Take canister out for a cleaner look. Put in S.M. 052 and stops fault codes on dash. Easy job to perform yourself.

With it removed from my bike; no perceivable difference. It does not decrease fuel consumption. Right wrist does that.

It’s an ugly thing but only if you look at it. It’s all black and tucked out of the way so I choose to ignore it.

I could see removing the CANISTER if it was right out in the open..... i.e. DUCATI Sport Classic - definitely worth removing.. R18 models.. not so much..

Superfluous baggage. Serves no purpose. I saw it everytime on the Pure ; had to go.
