I’ve found a replacement for it on Amazon. Same width, but twice the size.
I just didn’t want too big as I can put my Motoraad bags on when I am travelling or it’s winter weather and I want back up clothing….

A Hex EzCan to run some Denali lights. A pair of DL2s in yellow and a B6 brake/tail light. Also fitted some Road Styler rear crash bars and a car play mounting bracket from Motorrad Audio.

What does the CarPlay device do, that the integrated BMW Connect app doesn't do..?

It connects automatically every single time, works smoothly and allows the use of multiple navigation apps all of which are better than the connected ride navigator. I love the full screen mapping on the R 18 but having to select it on the phone and on the screen every single time is unacceptable. The fact that BMW won't add car play compatibility to their bikes is, in my view, also unacceptable, particularly as they have no problem adding it to their cars. The music interface is also much more versatile and allows you to easily and quickly swap between music, podcasts and audio books. The head unit is a Chigee AIO 5 for BMW on an Ali Express BMW nav mount so I can swap the head unit between bikes and remove it completely for safe storage.
The Motorad Audio mount needing some minor modification to make the BMW interface fit but that was nothing that 10 minutes with a Dremel couldn't fix. They were brilliant, by the way. Ordered on Tuesday night and arrived from The States on Friday morning. Delivery charge was a bit of a stinger, but you get what you pay for.
I like the B6. I have one on my GS too. The flashing when engine braking is a great feature, particularly on Boxers as they almost go backwards when you come off the throttle.

I too have the Mottorrad Audio mount on my R18B that I have my Garmin XT2 mounted to. Something you might want to consider is reinforcing the inside of the mount. I hit a pothole and my mound broke in half. I was on a trip at the time and was able to patch it up with duct tape to continue. I contacted Mottorrad Audio and they sent me a new mount immediately and it was waiting for me when I got home. When I installed the replacement mount I got some plastic bonding epoxy and on the inside I took a couple of steps of plastic and glued in reinforcement along the internal sides of the mount to make sure this did not happed again. This mount is 3d printed so it is made in layers which can split apart if not fully bonded together during the printing process. It may have just been a defective mount but I wanted to make sure this did not happen again.

Fitting it in 12 minutes is quicker than I expected for a breastplate. Thanks for the shipping weight detail — a 2 lb boxed weight still doesn't tell us the plate alone, so a kitchen scale reading would settle it if you get a chance. Thicker and well machined sounds like a good sign for fit and finish. Revzilla makes sense for availability, though I'd be curious whether the finish matches the rest of the bike once it's mounted.
