Wiki Repair Manual

Saw it a few months back. Apologies I thought that we were all aware. I'm looking at getting the service plate for erm, servicing,

Alight variation with measurements. The plate is 10mm thick:

The standoffs are M10 x 45mm and M10 x 90mm

Does the plate allow clearance for the transmission fluid to drain from the drain plug?

Not sure Scott, I'm actually wondering the benefit of this plate. Looking at the images of the plate, you could either put a further hole it for the drain plug or a bit of ali foil to guide the oil like on H-D. I think the plug would be accessible but awkward without a new hole. My thinking was that the bike can be lifted off of the floor bench with two scissor platforms anyway, but with the service place it could be lifted with the Big Blue Easy Rizer lift https://us.on-bike.com/motorcycle-lifts

I'm hooked on the KERN-STABI X-518; it sets up in a NY minute, functions on multiple levels for my maintenance, storing, lift-platform and retrofitting work..

I've seen yours and others in action Scott and whilst they look ok, I am not a fan of one trick ponies, hence my reticence for the service plate.

I'm surprised how often I put my bike up on the stand; admittedly, my R18 B is a bit of a garage Queen that comes out each sunny weekend..

To be honest, I haven't had to use the floor jack to lift it for any of the maintenance I've already performed, I've been able to do everything with just the X-518 height.

It's not BMW, it's a single engineer in Germany. I think shipping will be expensive. He will make them uncoated or powder coated. This is the price to the UK.

  1. Plate, raw (without coating) as laser cut, incl. fastening bolts and screws: 150,-€.
  2. Powder coating, RAL 9005 matt: 60,-€
  3. Shipping with DHL Germany to UK: approx. 45,-€

For the production of the plate, he need approx. 12 days.

The coater usually needs about 14 days additional.

PM me for his email address.
