I have contacted with TTS. Let's see if they can just sell me the 18x8 rim and spokes and send over to Singapore,

I recently just build a set of 21/18 wheels for my XT660z from parts as well.

Awesome bike! So is your front wheel also from TTS? My bobber is currently 19/16 and would love to up size to a 17 or 18” rear wheel but if the spokes do not match I’d want to swap out the front wheel as well then.

The rear wheel requires new rim and spokes. As does the front. Both from TTS.

If you're starting point is a Roctane with forged wheels. You'll ALSO need hubs. Now it's getting very pricey. If your wheels are spoked you can reuse your hubs
 
I just ordered 18x8.0 rim with 40 holes and will be rebuilding the wheel using a spare rear wheel I brought for the hub.

I will try to document more details on rims, spoke length and tapes on how to tubeless as well.

Have already lined up a 240 Metzler Cruisetec for use with my bike too.

As I still intend to keep the subframe for use with pillion, I going thru ideas on how to settle the back end of the bike with the big tire

Wow look at that 😍. Where did you purchase that rim, spokes and nipples from and what’s your plan for trueing it. I will be following suit, please take lots of pictures

i'm awaiting for the custom rim to come in before taking some measurement and getting custom spokes from spokes supplier.
If the rim quality is good, I will recommend the supplier here to those interested in going the custom built method instead of the TTS/Kineo method.


I had brought spokes from various places (Sweden, UK) including some from China, but the quality and price of the spokes varies a lot.
For my R18, i'm dropping more $ into it (and skipping the china supplier) , to get it to the state I wanted my cruiser to be like.

this is the rear wheel i got off Ebay, almost new as stated.

By safety rim I mean it has a Second ridge to help keep the tire properly seated following a loss of pressure.

I don't know how anyone else will true it but I did it the usual way. By tensioning the spokes properly. I know the answer is vague but I'm not sure what the question is.

How much offset (for the spoke holes) does your TTS rim have?
Mine are directly on the center of the rims and hence have to get the spokes Slightly offset by 2-3mm on each sides.

let me try get pictures of the existing wheel and the new rim up shortly.
 
The offset for the TTS rim is measured on the DRIVE SIDE.

between the outer edge of the wheel bearing and the edge of the rim is 67mm.

I'm not sure how the holes are centered or not...i'll try to measure when I get Home in a few days. Looking at a video I have of the trueing they appear to be slightly offset toward the non drive side.

Two of my friends had their wheels built by Woody’s Wheel Works in Denver.
You just send them your hubs and they come back magnificent. Plus you get your choice of spokes.

the rim on the left is the new rim, 0mm offset for the spoke holes. both Distance A are same
the rim wheel on the right is the stock wheel, there is an offset between the left spoke holes and right spoke holes. Distance B and Distance C are different.

spokes length differences are huge!!

Woody makes good wheels, had friends who did their KTM wheels via Woody!

his superlace method makes very strong wheels
