Bike
2023 R18B
Hello and thank you for adding me to the group! I have a 2023 R18B that I recently acquired and I am very happy with it so far. I got my first dirt bike in 1978 and my first street bike 4 years after that. I have owned bikes every day since then. I’ve been a Harley guy for years, so I figured that I would try something different.

Welcome aboard.. congratulations on the new ride; I'd be curious to read your thoughts between the Model B and the HD Brand...

I jumped off of a GS Adventure w/ 96,668 miles on it; with a plan of getting a HD Street Glide ST or Road Glide ST, until I realized that BMW basically had a tech loaded Street Glide bagger..

All my riding buddies have HD bikes... I absolutely love my R18, where they love to poke fun at my bike, yet they're constantly complaining about their bikes..

Anyways, welcome... There's lots of good technical stuff on the forum if you like wrenching on your machines.

Morning, lovely bike that 👌. I was out and about on mine last week and stopped for a brew, had a very enjoyable chat with a chap on his big Harley. He was out enjoying our (unusual) spell of dry sunny weather too!

Welcome here, I'm not too far away in Avon-Park until end of April. Enjoy your new ride.

Welcome aboard and congratulations on your new bike. You have possibly one of the best looking Baggers out there 😉This one is mine.

Et tu Anibal. That paint scheme is a real eye catcher. Thanks for the welcome!

Thank you Star-Lord. My immediate reaction was the difference in the chromed doodads between BMW and Harley. There is very little plastic on the BMW. And though I will have to learn my way around a new class of engine, the maintenance items seem less involved than they were on Harleys.

My stand arrives from Hornig today, and I have already downloaded most of the manuals and service info from this forum. What a great resource!

Thank you Rufus! Nothing against my Harley brothers, but it was time for a change. 👍

Check out an earlier post; I had put together a handful of maintenance videos and a PDF maintenance work book:

I love the KERN-STABI X518 stand; I've made a couple videos on the stand, as well as different modifications that will make oil changes and transmission fluid changes a little easier, especially retrieving the oil filter by removing the cross member bracket
