Yes. Mounted diffferently. Thanks for the pics.Hattech definitely doesn’t drag (angled up a bit toward the rear)
All modern vehicles have gas tanks vented through a vapor recovery system, gas caps are no longer vented for this reason..Hi, I did ask the seller and he came, very fast, back with this respons:
This is airless. There will be a sealing ring inside. thank you
does that mean that the tank has another external connection to outside pressure? Or what other solution is used nowadays? Do remember that I am of an "older" generation and in our days the blocking of the cap was notorious and could even cause an "implossion" of the tank, due to vaccuum build up while riding/draining....
Anyone??
Hattech makes a complete exhaust (from manifold back) that is much more clean aesthetically (eliminating that unsightly kink), however, it’s quite spendy. There is one guy on this forum with that setup. The Hattech setup is another example, that the stock exhaust manifold design is quite a challenge for custom builder.
While the exhaust looks good to me, I dislike the section with the little Hattech logo sheet on it.

thanks for the info....my latest (not new) bike before the R18 was a R45.... so this is indeed new for me... I am guessing that the seller on ebay, has no clue on what I am talking about....All modern vehicles have gas tanks vented through a vapor recovery system, gas caps are no longer vented for this reason..

Which cap?Anybody have that gas cap? I like the look but not that it is 100% going to be a downgrade in quality from OEM.
back up a few posts....Which cap?
Which cap?
I am all the way with you on this.... the original gas cap is not very userfriendly, specially not on older guys like us with Parkinson approching and Alzheimer Light round the corner.... that's why I gonna order such a china thing, just for the heck of it...I accidentally dropped the locking gas cap and put the 1st small chip on the fuel tank.I've been thinking about this cap as I'm getting old & feeble,LOL! Plus, not sure if I can be trusted with a 10 pound gas cap!!!
It is supposed to be non-vented.Which is needed for the evaporation-cannester system on the BMW R18.
Monza style caps are not uncommon and have been used on many many motos. I haven't looked but I would expect one could find a quality piece if they wanted.I am all the way with you on this.... the original gas cap is not very userfriendly, specially not on older guys like us with Parkinson approching and Alzheimer Light round the corner.... that's why I gonna order such a china thing, just for the heck of it...

In the end, go with a company known for quality; their workmanship and attention to detail is the standard here. Look at how Remus does their shield. The Hattech setup is another example, that the stock exhaust manifold design is quite a challenge for custom builder.
