Same issue with me. The C3s were terrible. Wore unevenly..and new they were slippery Called Michelin...wanted hoops to be cleared..before anything would happen. Said F it and bought Metz Crstechs...COMPLETELY different bike with the Metzys...Never buy Michelins again.
Of course trading it in you're gonna take a big hit. Dealers buy *used* bikes at wholesale prices, and sell at retail used prices. Car dealers do the same, as do musical instrument dealers. Suggest you sell it outright..but bare in mine new models are being heavily discounted. Additionally...
I just went ahead and put two new Cruisetecs on the bike... OUTSTANDING...way better then those awful C3s were. I wouldn't mix them personally....not worth the few dollars for safety and ride characteristics! You only have two wheels!
I've done the same and the results are excellent. Night and day diff over stock... especially running high grade, 93octane fuel. At 7400mi it just keeps getting better. I noted around 5k when it really started building more power, smoother, better fuel mileage...and of course the sound...
Finally, deep sixed those awful Michelin Commander 3s...and installed some Metzler Cruisetecs....HUGE upgrade! Just breaking them in and they're already far, far better then them slippery ass C3s... Just look at how beefy they look!
