Excellent find! I use a large hypodermic syringe. I asked my local pharmacist. After I explained I was using it to fill my bike's final drive, his suspicion changed to a smile and he just gave it to me.
Yes, speeds in the U.S. vary quite a bit. I find my R18 TC cruises quite comfortably at 75-85mph.
A few years ago I rode my R1150GS from Santa Cruz, California to Lake Havasu, Arizona, rarely went below 80mph, much of the trip was around 90-95mph. Fastest day-long road trip I ever made.
Have you checked with Kissell Motorsports, as others suggested. They probably won't have it in inventory but then, their inventory and their distribution network is huge. Can't hurt to ask them.
Oh man, that brings back memories of polishing brightwork... if it moves, salute it; if it doesn't move, paint it or polish it.
This stuff works great, btw.
I can relate. Enclosed trailers are expensive and take up a good bit of space. Maybe figure a way to wrap the front of the bike that won't harm the finish. Maybe shrinkwrap plastic would work... dunno though.
May not be to your preference but something to protect the bike from road debris/FOD. Either a deflector of some sort on the trailer or a full-width mudflap on the truck? Or both?
Red64, NoelPolar switched his shift arms front to back; I switched mine inside to outside on the shaft.
I presume you'll give these ideas a try. Let us know how it works out.
Looks good.
If you're interested: I also switched the shift levers so the rear lever is on the outside of the shift shaft and the forward lever is on the inside. For me, that gave me a bit more room for the toe of my boot, and allowed me to set the rear lever 1 notch lower without it hitting...
I had mine set at the dealerahip when I got my 1st service. I thought it would be a bigger job than it was. The tech told me it was no big deal, they take that stuff off and on quite frequently.
I haven't tried doing it myself, though. 😉
I use an UltraGard, I think the model # is 4-458G, on my TC when traveling. It keeps the bike dry when I'm parked somewhere.
RhoXS has a good point about moisture.I've found that high humidity is the worst culprit. I used to live in California's Santa Cruz mountains and, in those wet winters...
