Where is the day/night sensor on the R18?

Busy day so I don't feel like explaining it. Clearwater has a day and night mode. my brake light from them is two different intensities running & activated on day & night time and it's a button-bonanza of work to enter the configuration mode. same for the front facing lights. they're brighter @...

Where is the day/night sensor on the R18?

I'm configuring new Clearwater lights and my bagger doesn't have any clear indication where I cover with a piece of tape to trigger 'night mode' so I can configure the lights for day and night time intensity? Alternatively, I can just do it at night :)

    Aftermarket Brake Light?

Finally get into doing this. The Bagger / TC install is going to be a bit more work. I need to remove the seat which is harder on the TC with the top case installed and remove one of the side boxes.

    Engines and the future

That's probably a topic for another thread but I agree. Humans have a distinct ability of letting technology get the better of them and considering how that tech impacts us and our planet is almost always an afterthought (Jurassic Park reference here). EVs do not have tail pipe emissions but the...

    Engines and the future

I specifically bought the R18 for THIS very reason. The BMW R18 will not exist as a purchasable bike in 20 years. I'll be 55 and will have never owned an American cruiser. I wanted a big heavy cruiser for once in my life that has things done the old school way and I'm not very good at restoring...

TC Auxiliary Light & Wind Fairing Winglet DIY Model-B Installation

I just don't touch anything electrical. Ive fried everything I've ever touched. If it isn't already in a connector, I'm going to screw it up. My curse I guess.

TC Auxiliary Light & Wind Fairing Winglet DIY Model-B Installation

Thank you for making this. I guess you can't purchase the TC left handlebar switch and get the aux light w/o some sort of factory retrofit? Given there is cutting, splicing and modifying, I think this effort is going to be too much work for me.

    R18 or R18 Bagger

I threw it away already but I had made a spreadsheet. I listed out the door price on Base, Classic, Bagger and TC and ended up with Bagger. Sort of, if you can go through what you get with each new model and find out that sweet spot between what you're willing to pay and what features you want...

    Transcontinental wind deflectors on Bagger

@Scott Semone - Would you care to or mind creating a thread DIY for this conversion? 1. Part numbers 2. Coding 3. additional steps / issues I had questions but it'd be great if you had an hour of time to put something together for us. ----- I had 4 people at a Moto rally this weekend ride...

OEM Engine Guards and Wunderlich Bag Protection Bars

thanks for the photos. I don't think these are a waste of money but they are expensive. But Wunderlich had no place to mount on the rear so there wasn't much else they could really do. These will do a lot to save your plastic boxes but not much else.

What did you do to your R18 today?

Longest is only 1200 but 750-950 I do at least 5 days a year. It's not that I'm showing off just that I really like just riding all day long from sunrise to sunset or later.
