What about just removing the baffles in the aftermarket Vance and Hines slip-ons?

Are the cats still intact with this system?

I have installed the Vance and Hines straight pipes on my FE but still not satisfied with the sound. How do I most easily access and remove the cats? I have done this on most of my bikes by just buying new headers but this does not look like an option with the R18.

Thanks Scott. I have a First Edition and despite going through all the pdf’s options for the Heritage models, I found no mention of the V&H Motorad exhaust installation. Have you seen it or done it yourself? Thanks, david

Fish tails are off, now how to install the new V&H pipes?

Just got my V&H slip ons in the mail—no instructions and just 2 small screws plus 4 black hole plugs. I guess it's just plug’n play using OEM parts once the fishtails are removed. They feel pretty heavy but I guess the FE was never gonna be a light weight. Anyone else done this at home? Tips...

Like many of you, I am pretty old school about maintenance and usually do all of my own routine oil changes, etc. My R18 FE just popped up the service alert on it's one year birthday but it has less than 2000 miles and has already had 2 oil changes, one by the dealer at 600 miles and one by me...

Come on guys--this is Japan's answer to Arlen Ness and Roland Sands. I think these guys are geniuses and although I wouldn't want to own such a Mad Max machine, I can still appreciate it like I do the way my K1600B resembles the Concept 101.
