I tried using the LX version and it wouldn’t connect To the R18. I just realized it may be due to the fact that I was using the “OBDLink” app and not the Motoscan pro which I will try shortly.

What battery tenders have you used to maintain and charge the battery?

Not standard on the R18. I'm not sure if it's an option at this stage. Believe it or not this past weekend I completed a 1255 mike journey from Rosemary Beach, FL to Huntington NY on the R18 over 2 days. No cruise control though it's wasn't much of a problem.

I know the first editions had the welcome kits, as supplied by the dealer. Not sure about the classics

I never added the metal spacers. Didn't like how much they stuck out!

I also installed them w/no problems.

I’m getting 35mpg, always in rock mode.

Wow, I feel for you. I've had one bad crash over the years on a F650 CS. Got VERY lucky and walked away. So, we must count our blessings.

It's definitely not std which is a source of some complaints.

My sense is that the beauty of the R18 First Edition can't be beat. I think of it as a commuter as opposed to a long distance cruiser/tourer.
