I had done some research on here about this company because from day one I felt something was off. No responses to emails, questions not getting answered, etc. I was told by members on here that Hans (the owner) was a bit odd and slow but his work was top notch.
Before ordering I tried to communicate that I wanted my fender painted without the pinstripes or lights. I had bought the lights previously so I didn't have to battle the EURO - US issues. That never happened. Maybe the Google translator wasn't very good. OK, so I can get it painted here. Probably better anyways considering the shipping.
Day one I started to worry because they only take wire transfers. If you have not done this let me tell you it is a PIA. After sending the money and notifying LMC that the money was sent I received no reply for 2 weeks confirming receipt. That was nerve racking not knowing where all that money went.
I had ordered the hardline fender for the stock tire, the frame plugs, and CNC mounting "stop ends." After 4 months of not hearing much I started to email questions. I received an email saying they needed more money because they forgot to charge me for the "stop ends." I sent a copy of the invoice they sent me showing it was ordered and got no response for a few weeks. Needless to say I sent the money writing it up to being lost in translation and maybe it was for lights. Who knows. A week later I received an email asking why I sent the money. I sent a copy of the email that was sent to me and never heard about it again.
I saw a few pics on this site of the hardline fender received by our members and was surprised to see this is not the fender shown on the site. When I asked LMC if this is the one I ordered Hans stated he sent the what I ordered. No real clarification there.
So this week I received my order. The fender is not even close to paint ready. So It is raw with pits in the welds. The metal is ground rough and unsanded. There are still burrs hanging off of it on some spots, and the lines are not straight. VERY disappointed. Also my order did not include the lights, which was fine because the EURO lights aren't great with the US models, and missing my frame plugs. So all and all I have paid $1400 for a fender that is not what I ordered. The lights are not what is shown on the LMC site, so now I have to buy new lights as well which is another $160. The fender has to be worked before it can even be sealed and primed. Unpainted does not mean unfinished.
This transaction was a major waste of time and money. LMC Cycles' machining must be better than the metal work to have such a reputation.
What makes me so disappointed is I live in Phoenix AZ. There are bike builder legends here including Paul Yaffe (who built an R18 for Sturgis) who probably could have built this fender for a comparable price and got exactly what I wanted at show quality standards.
Just a heads up guys. BEWARE!
Here is a pic of how the fender was received

UPDATE! I did get a response about the missing items. "They will be delivered."

07/03/2025 Well, It has been over a month. No further response when asking if the missing parts have been shipped and no parts have shown up. I even asked for a refund with no response.

This business is the worst I have ever come across in all my years of customizations . Hans owes me money on top of delivering sh!tty product. NEVER AGAIN. BEWARE!

UPDATE! Well what do you know, after my last email saying my review is not kind I received a reply. My money is going to be refunded for my missing frame plugs.
He said he was in the hospital. I told him a simple mass email explaining that would fix the communication problem. He said he does this all on his own with no help. As a medical professional that has over a decade at patient's bedside, I know there is still several ways and time to send one email in five weeks time.

At least that issue will soon be resolved.

Last update. It has been over a week and still not notification of refund. I have been taken advantage of. No only did I pay FAR more for my fender than most on this site, but I also did not receive all my parts.

I was ripped off!
I will warn you. Please consider my experience before purchasing anything from. LMC Cycles. I don't wish for this to happen to you.

Me personally, I did find my LMC purchase a little frustrating (Painted Rear Fender w/Tail Lights, Seat Pan, Seat, Seat Pouch, License Plate Bracket, Modified Rear Axle and Oil Cooler).

I probably should sit down and really do the math, in terms of the exchange rate of what I sent to LMC via bank transfer and the advertised prices on the website.

Expectations: Hans is horrible at email exchanges; I suspect, that Hans is sometimes overwhelmed with other customer projects - so email responses are delayed and are subject to interpretation via Google translate (German to English and visa-versa).

Delivery Time: Patience is an absolute must if going the LMC route; I purchased my parts in October and didn't receive my parts until April (7 Months) and several broken emails promises of delivery dates...

Quality, Fit & Finish: Overall, I can't say a negative thing about my received parts. My fender was ordered painted with the First Edition pin stripe; however, it arrived with the multi-color European taillights - not the simple two wire KELLERMANN Lights (Hans doesn't offer US version).

If I had to purchase a rear fender again, I would order the fender painted and defer ordering the Taillights; where, I would purchase the two wire ATTO KELLERMANN lights separately and cement them into the fender channel myself.

Hans was really good about sending me a modified Fender Bracket to try out, which worked well on my R18 build project.

As a repeat customer, I would ask that I pay him via PayPal vs the bank transfer route; there's too many things that can go wrong with the wire transfer... One wrong digit & poof...!!

I've considered purchasing my exact order (3x), minus the Taillights; in order to build up three additional R18 Bobbers or building R18 bikes for BMW owners looking for a Bobber... That would be about a $20k investment, which I may never see a return on..

I just don't think folks are willing to pay this type of money; my BaT auction just covered the cost of the entire build - someone is getting a really great quality Bobber with Super High Quality LMC, Roland Sands Design and BMW OEM parts on it..

Just be patient and try reaching out to Hans if a correction is still needed.

I got the medical excuses from Hans a few years ago as well. He claimed COVID and heart issues.
I don’t buy the one man operation excuse. LMC operated three locations and the level of fabrication and design work requires a significant workforce.
I think LMC grew too fast after the introduction of the R18 which is far more popular in Germany than here in the U.S.

If I need any other fabrication done to that degree I will go with a local chopper builder. He is ridiculous.
Will your local fabrication guy going to have the jigs in place to mock up this level of fabrication? Not to mention the custom designed brackets and castings.
I’m not going to defends Hans’ business practices but a local guy will ring up hours fast without them.

Yeah, one of my locals is Paul Yaffe. I bet I could have gotten this style of fender from him for less than the $2k I have in this one...and get all my parts.
