Does anyone have comfort and size (width and height) comparison between the Day Rider and the 719 seats?

Also curious to see how Day Rider compares with Weekender on the same fronts. Any pictures to help gauge how the Weekender looks on a bike would be helpful! I do know the Cross Country looks a little bulky to most, including myself.

The first post in this thread talks about the heights of the Mustang seats as well as the relative differences. The 719 is the same as the stock seat, just with stitching.

Here was a post I’d shared with the Weekender on my bike:

Thank you! Yes I just read thru all the posts on this thread. Still torn between the Day Rider or the Weekender - leaning a tad bit towards Day Rider since it seems to offer a good balance for the looks vs comfort whereas the weekend is more on the comfort side of the spectrum. I feel like an airhawk with the Day Rider for rides longer than 4-5 hours (very rare for me) will do the job well.

Great pictures on https://www.r18forums.com/threads/what-did-you-do-to-your-r18-today.97/post-10307 - thank you. Also had me browsing thru pages and pages of that thread!

I bought the weekender seat and had issues with the install as well. Attaching the driver seat was smooth, I put the bushing where it's supposed to go but then I would push down on the passenger pillion to try and "mate" it to the bushing without being able to see through the foam. Doing it by feel. Missing. Thinking it was attached, screwing the rear bolt down only to find the pillion didnt latch. Multiple times. Very bad words could be heard from my garage by all of the townsfolk.

Then I finally tried pushing the pillion against the driver seat at about a 45 degree angle and try to latch onto the bushing that way and once I felt it hook in and then would push down hard to screw in the rear bolt. Success. Finally.

Love the seat. Makes me sit a little forward from the stock seat but a bit higher as well so... trade offs. Much more comfortable.

I like that passenger backrest! - can you share which one it is and if you have a link that would be great! Same for the wind deflectors - are they adjustable once mounted? Do you feel a significant difference in the wind protection from using them?

For reference I have a Classic with standard windshield only, I am 5'9. Just got it so have not had an opportunity to put longer rides on it yet, but the wind deflectors are certainly on my wish list.

I'd thought the same way, but I went for the Weekender. To my butt, the stock seat was a max 45 minute seat. It's not about the softness of the seat but the width. The stock is so narrow that even an Airhawk didn't help. The Day Rider was only slightly wider, so I worried it wouldn't be worth it. To be fair, a "quick ride" for me is at least 100 miles, as I'll often do a 200 mile round trip for coffee. The weekender fit the bill for me. It's a reasonable compromise & I've done 3-400 mile backroad only days with camping gear hanging off the back & been fine. If you typically do <100 miles/day, I think the Day Rider would be fine.

The cross-country or a Russell Day Long would be even more comfortable, but they get too much to the ugly looking part of the spectrum. I'm not keen on doing Iron Butt distance, as I find 3-400 mile days gives you time to explore, rather than being stuck on a highway for 16 hours/day. As long as you are honest with what your intended use is, you can find the right seat.

The backrest is a cheap one off amazon, I dont recommend it and I actually removed it from the cycle since that picture was taken. The mounting points on it were not done well and it never properly "mated up" to the holes in the fender without some manipulation.

The wind deflectors are still on the bike and the primary manner in which I was able to get rid of head shake. Prior to using them with a taller windshield I couldnt go over 55 mph without my helmet being bounced all over. With a taller windshield and the wind deflectors I tested up to 100 mph with no issue. Wind deflectors are Memphis Shades fork deflectors MEM5804 https://www.denniskirk.com/memphis-shades/fork-deflectors-mem5804.p233568.prd/233568.sku

I see this is an ancient thread, mayojuaf, but did you find out if the Mustang driver backrest for Harleys fits the Day Rider seat? If you're still active on the forum, please let me know.
