That jerk Scott Semone put together two YT videos explaining the lifting of the R18 B with the Kern-Stabi; probably more information than needed...

They are just looking to distribute the wight to he engine lift points and frame as designed. I have a pair of scissor jacks, just needed to know what adapters he used in the picture to hit the lift points. For what it’s worth. I did a two year build project on my bobber using this scissor jack.
With the optional riser adapters I could lift my R18 for virtually anything I needed.
I just don’t get the value of these adapter plates everyone is discussing.

I question hw much access you have to anything with that large contraption and a floor jack under the bike.Like MilwDave, a wheel chock ( fixed to ground ) , support stands and a simple scissor lift with small blocks of wood at times. Raised front , rear of bike , balanced in middle to remove frame rails for engine cover removal. Just avoid pressure on oil filter.
Totally agree... Servo Module and Exhaust flap removal is best and easiest to remove while the bike is simply on its kickstand...Sometimes l even surprise myself with what can be achieved with what l have. Lots of sitting on arse whilst ‘spannering’ away.
Hi SniderI need this. Is there a build file?
I saw one that looks like that at menards and was wondering if it would work.Does it fit between the exhaust heat shields?(guess it does if you are using it,LOL).
My jack is similar but the lift arms are to long & won't work.
Thank you for your reply.I will go look at your jack at HF.
Regards,Tom
Saw one that looks like that at menards, wonder if there's a difference. But knowing the harbor freight one works is good
I know this thread is old, but do you have any pictures of this. Just did my valve adjustments and used a regular floor jack to lift up the back wheel creating a triangle of the jack the kickstand and the front tire. But I would prefer to just use 2x4's to make a frame.People seem to make it more difficult to lift the bike than it really is. I use a Harbor Freight motorcycle lift, then cut down a 2X4 and drilled holes in it allowing to put bolts through to the engine mount holes. It gives it enough space to clear the exhaust pipes and use the lift properly.
I use a 1,500 lbs floor jack in combination with the KERN-STABI X518 to lift the R18 Model B and the R18 First Edition.I know this thread is old, but do you have any pictures of this. I have a wood block I made to put the triumph on. I jack up the back end the same as above and roll it onto the block and then remove the jack.
I bought an atv jack and with the triumph lowered for the wife the jack doesn't fit under the frame rails.
R18 doesn't have frame rails just have to make your own frame. I'd buy a welder and make one but I keep spending money on mod parts and new motorcycles. LOL!
Only works woth stock exhaust. What if modified with a brand other than those listed on site ?
At what points does the jack make contact with the bikeI use a chock that fits both the front and rear wheels - this works good for general maintenance (oil changes). If I have to remove either wheels I use a scissor jack; but this gets tricky removing the rear wheel from a Bagger. With that long fender you really gotta jack it up!
