Would also make it tricky to use over here. The plod would pull me over about as surely and quickly as riding without a hard hat does.

That’s what’s great about living in Harley Davidson’s backyard. You’ll only get pulled over for doing stupid shit and drawing attention to yourself.
And trust me, there’s plenty of that going around to keep law enforcement busy.
