After a month at the dealer, just got my bike back this week for the Recall. I was afraid they'd get the fix in before getting it back and then rescind the $1k credit offer. Was able to get a new Weekender seat with it. FYI, as of last week there were only 4 left in the country in case anyone was looking at getting one.

The doubling of prices of motorcycle parts is similar to the doubling of food prices. Think of it this way.... If I am bidding at an auction and someone hands me a $100 bill, I can suddenly bid an extra $100 on that same item.
When Uncle Sam floods the market with dollars, we can all bid a higher price than before the dollar flood.

The trouble is that wages are not rising at the same rate ... But that's another story ...

This is the first I'm seeing of anything in the US around a reverse recall. The BMW recall site only shows the active recall for the headlight on my B (impacts the TC also). Maybe something coming down the line, but nothing officially put up through BMW that I can find.
They did a recall three months ago in Australia. They just disconnected the reverse electrically and offered everyone that did it a 3 year / 30000 km service inclusive package or a approx 2 -3 % credit of the purchace price of your R18 for at the BMW shop. Been told they will have the spare parts here (OZ) next few weeks for the repair and reinstate reverse gear. A few bikes have been repaired and the reverse reinstated already.. The problem was potential water ingress mainly in very humid climates. They have a fix, some new seals and everything back to normal.

Replacement Reverse module still isn't available here in New Jersey, USA.

I asked my service shop to schedule my bike for the new R module fix and the mounting of new tires at 13,000+ at the same time; I'm hopeful the service manager will schedule something once parts arrive.

BMW sent me the recall notice to disconnect. Did you also receive a notice the fix is in?
Maybe I need to cancel my appointment to disconnect.

Unless you store your bike in the elements (and even then), there's zero reason to go in to get the reverse disconnected. The $1000 accessory incentive is gone so you're only taking your time to go in to then have to go back again once the real fix hits us in the states, which I would expect to be within March, early-April at this point.

My bike went in this morning, collected from home, it’s coming back about 5pm tomorrow. 🤞 all fixed.

The fix hasn't hit North American yet? Correct?
Correct - we haven't seen anyone the forum receive notice yet. We've been told that BMW does a slow-roll of parts distribution, and it appears the closer you are to Berlin, the quicker you're getting taken care of. I'd expect March to early-April at this point, but sadly wouldn't be surprised if it takes longer.

To be honest, I did not receive a notification from BMW, I just took my bike last Friday because the headlight issue and they told me to bring her tomorrow to have it checked and since they have it, they will do the reverse recall thing.

I'm in Vancouver. Definitely in North America now.

I noticed your location is listed as Kansas. Do you use Engle in KCMO for service work? I live in Paola, KS and they are the closest dealer to me. I'm curious if you've used them what you think of the service department.

My son and his family live in Oklahoma City, so I have been going down there. It is a few miles less in distance than KC, but not much. I stopped in at Engles about 6 months ago and bought some maintenance items like oil filter, wrenches, etc. I know Pete who sells their Beemers. Almost bought a new Bagger from him 2 to 3 years ago.
Don't have any data on the service dept.
