After some research and fitment testing, I found and can confirm that seats from the classic fits the Roctane! You'll need to remove the stock center seat mount and move the turn signal connectors up a bit but it fits spot on.

So much more comfortable than the stock seat; it's the BMW cross country seat made by mustang out of the catalog.

Today my father in law, my son and i all worked together to change the oil, adjust the valves and replace the air filter. Took longer than i had anticipated but what a difference!! Valves were way out of spec and the oil was much older than I’m comfortable admitting lol and the air filter was pretty gross. Replaced it with a K&H but didn’t change the housing. So glad we were able to do these little maintenance projects together.

Tim, I like that little fairing you've got installed there - what is it?

I installed my 'poor boy Jekyll & Hyde' today. Much easier than I expected, especially after I realised the connectors weren't near the rectifier (don't ask)
You need two of these units - one for each flapper valve controller. Simply unplug the harness and put the Healtech units in line, then feed the wires for the switches up to the handlebars and find a convenient place to mount them. I am going to replace both three-position switches with a single 6 pin switch,
Initial impression is really good - the switch has three positions - valve closed, valve open and factory setting. With the valve closed, the exhaust note is very muted (and neighbour friendly) With the valve open the exhaust has a lovely deep bass which comes through. Definitely a mod that I can recommend if you are on a budget (y) I forgot to take install pics but here are a few after fitting
Pic1 - The Healtech unit (you need two)
Pic2 - You can see the right exhaust valve controller and the two Healtech units tucked away on the left
Pic 3 - This is my temporary switch until I figure out a more permanent site for it

Got my fender back from paint. I don't have the time at the moment to take the front tire off and install it properly. So here it is just sitting roughly where it should. Looks nice enough...to trade in...

I am actually minutes away from driving to pick up my new to me 2013 K1600 GTL. R18 is likely going to be traded in persuit of a Rebel 1100 DCT for the wife later this week.

Just a heads up, I have a windscreen bag, Cross Country seats, and a Shark Road slip on exhaust setup. Seat is in fine shape for 10,000 of seat time....little bit of leather wear on tailbone spot of the seat. Exhaust is scuffed and bruised but not in horrible shape. If anyone is interested in any of it...speak up lol.

Photos of new bike coming soon...

Working on my 2013 K1600GTL today. Got a high speed vibration that you start to feel at 75mph and just gets worse the faster you go. Not "death wobble" tank-slapper kinda vibration. Out of balance tire causing high-speed vibration. Got the wheel off and I'm taking it to be looked over and balanced Monday. Best case, it just needs balanced. I am hoping that the worst case scenario is a bad tire. It's a shame because they seem like fairly fresh looking Road GT 6 rubber. I have a set of Pirelli Angel GT tires ready to go on if that is the case though.

Pulled the front tire on the R18 while I was tinkering with the K. R18 definitely needs front brakes soon. Fender went on smooth but definitely went on a little crooked the first try.

My daughter had to join in to work on her bigh wheel. She couldn't let dad have all the fun.

Edit: got bored and pulled the K1600 rear. Front feels like it's cupping when you run your hand across the tire. Took a photo and the rear looks worse than the front does when the light hits it.

Excellent daughter involvement!

View attachment 18268I rode from Lancaster PA to Wilmington NC on Thursday and got poured on for a bit. Then yesterday i rode back to lancaster and nearly melted in the heat. It was sooooooo hhhaaawwwttt out. But it was a great ride. 1000 mile round trip.
I am in Lancaster too. We need to meetup. Send me a PM if interested.

So after one month in India I returned and the new pillion back rest from Road Styler had arrived. I installed combined with the flat rack.
As you can see from my daughter sitting on the pillion seat it sits a little too far back with the Wunderlich pillion seat.
So may need to look at either spacing it forward or increase the padding.

Overall fit and finish is very good. And the design options for the back plate are nice to have available

Get Hans to discount an oil cooler for your bike; also, get him to accept PayPal from you as a form of payment from a trusted customer...

Any other future upgrades on the horizon...?

If I was to Bob another R18; I'd consider eliminating the speedometer and headlight and replace it with the ROCTANE headlight-speedometer assembly...

I will no longer do any business with Hans. I'm not going to change much more on this bike except the odometer. Since I live in AZ we can ride almost all year and I'm going to enjoy riding and exploring.
