I looked back at gas prices in 2012.... they were $1.40 per liter in Aussie land... now they are about double that.... fact is everything mostly doubles in price every 10 or so years. So having established that everthing is normal, I went for a ride and used 7 litres of 2026 priced gas without overthinking it.... as I'd already done that bit.
it shót (literally  ) up here too. Highest was over 1.85 €/l. Spanish gvt though took part of the brunt by lopping off 30 €cts/l. from their tax income. Now it is around 1.55 €/l.

Australia just did the same (took a bit of tax off it for 3 months). For some reason (stupidity, greed etc?) Australia only carries a bit over 30days of fuel reserves.... we are mostly short of diesel at the moment... and it's heading towards crop sewing time.... go figure.

Replaced the bolts on the reservoirs with black, fit matching rubber boot f&r gear change pegs, cleaned and polished the hell out of it for this weekend’s ride.
I was going to replace the bolts on the engine name plates, but it appears that my dealership used blue Loctite when they fit the new sports air filter… any ideas on how to loosen them (heat, maybe)?

Blue shouldn't require heat, but heat does work.

If it’s the blue the bolts should undo with firm persuasion, just make sure you have a perfect fit to the tool you are using to avoid anything rounding off a head.

The service indicator came on today so I’ve re-set it with my Healtech device. Only reason I mention it really is for the benefit of the newbies that a small investment (cost me about £80 a few years ago) makes life and long term ownership a lot easier. The warning spanner 🔧 is a bit of a PITA and I find it quite distracting. I also noted the OBD port switch from behind the RHS panel to LHS made it a lot easier to get to. (I had an early 2020 FE before the two I own now). Details on the Healtech are already on the forum if you want to do some searches.

Went looking for a back rest for the stock seat on a 2022 R18B and came across the Dayrider seat on BMW's website for $190. Figured it was worth a try. Brown on Black doesn't look too bad, does it? Huge improvement in comfort. Sits 1-2" higher than stock and is just enough to give my hip angle some relief. Only downside is that 2" higher puts the wind straight on my forehead at only 5' 11".

The engine cover trim should be an easy install if you have the right tools. Unlike the RSD engine cover I recently installed which was a PITA - having to remove engine trusses, oil cooler cover, engine guards, foot controls, etc. to replace the OEM cover. Not difficult, but required hours of labor - can't imagine what a dealer would have charged.
