What did you do to your R18 today?

I finally wasn’t working on the weekend so I got the chance to do 4 things today. I liked Gilles’ mod for the oil cooler grill and those parts came in this week so that was put on. I was inspired by TheMucker’s pictures of the Weekender Seat so that went on. The machined cylinder head covers arrived with the seat this week so it was addition number 3. The last addition, which I’ll talk about in a separate thread, was to install the BMW windscreen bag.

I wish someone had a better idea to make the whole unit look better.

A while back there was a photo of the oem cooling set up but it was entirely chromed. Looked awful.
Barring a complete redo, I think it best to let it recede into the background. I went with black grate for mine.

Cannibalized it from one of those tiered desk paper holders. Not this exact one but you get the idea 😀

This is truly the kind of thing which happens when I have the day off from work. Ok, here goes. I repurposed my bar end weights (removed in lieu of Motogadget bar end signals) as finials of sorts for my engine guard.

For those who have no idea what I'm talking about, it's this:

I'd like to say that it's more impressive in person, but it's not. 😆

Gilles, my vision is similar to yours, but I ordered a genuine bobber seat a month ago. I am waiting for them until October. from all that I have watched the original, it seems to me the highest and at the same time the closest to the fuel tank (without a gap). I wanted higher because with a height of 190 cm I wanted to stretch my legs more at the knees. As soon as it is delivered I will send you pictures of the conversion.

Be careful not to be too close to the fuel tank, your right leg will be stuck against the air intake.
With the R25 seat, my position is slightly forward compared to the original seat and I have to move my feet back to reach the brake pedal and the toe / heel shifter (I'm 175 cm)

I ordered 4 sets of these

and placed them on either side of the speedometer mount to ever-so-slightly angle it downwards towards the headlamp.

This has the overall effect of making the speedometer face more flush with my line of vision.

I didn't take a "before" photo and this is really only an issue because I have an oddly long torso and because I can never leave well enough alone.🤣

This is a cool bmw feature with what they did. I am sure some of you are aware. Look how they made it visually look like my/5.
