What did you do to your R18 today?

“…white and blue are the colors of the State of Bavaria in Germany, home of BMW.”
I understand the history of the BMW logo.
But the R18 is an entry into a market segment where accessories and personal touches are a large part of the ownership experience.

That wasn’t aimed at anyone. The only reason was to inform. People could put smiley faces for all I care. I’ve already ordered the blacked out sticker things:)

I did notice today while measuring the Roundel on the rear fender that it is a cloisonné rather than a flat metal emblem like the others.
I’m still having the graphics company vector a smaller version to fit. I’ll have to wait and see how it looks once I get it.
One Roundel may retain the traditional blue and white colors after-all.

Love my vintage roundels!!!! Especially with the FE. I handed my X5 down to my son and the first mod he made was blacking out the roundels. I was bummed, but love the fact he’s making it his own. I guess I have “old man” vintage taste and Milwaukee Dave has young, hip taste!! LOL

Maybe it’s just me, but the blue segment of the Roundel just kept catching my eye too much.
So I picked up the eBay graphics sheet and converted all the blue segments to black.

It’s the little things settle my OCD down.
The graphics company added a small vectored version to use on the rear fender cloisonné.

I needed a spot to mount my phone (queue Black Dog) but didn’t want to block my view of the gauge or mount it out in the wind on the bars. I used the Wunderlich device mount but mounted it upside down. I also had issues with my FTR blowing the camera out of my iPhone so I also wanted the QuadLock isolation mount to be part of the solution.
I don’t want to clutter the bike up but I’m pretty happy with the result.
