Any other future upgrades on the horizon...?

If I was to Bob another R18; I'd consider eliminating the speedometer and headlight and replace it with the ROCTANE headlight-speedometer assembly...

After some research and fitment testing, I found and can confirm that seats from the classic fits the Roctane! You'll need to remove the stock center seat mount and move the turn signal connectors up a bit but it fits spot on.

So much more comfortable than the stock seat; it's the BMW cross country seat made by mustang out of the catalog.
Fun way of lifting the bike!

Just discovered today that the backrest from my Harley Low Rider ST that's using a saddlemen seat can accept the Rider backrest!

The backrest from Saddlemen is far superior to the one that comes stock on the cross country seat. Only thing you lose is the ability to adjust it up and down at the different notch points since the BMW are on the opposite side of the saddlemens.

Going to order a different cover for the backrest to better match the BMWs. Just an FYI for anyone else who would like to run this as well.

Changed the brake pads today. Rear and left front were easy. Front right the pin got stuck on something and i had to take the calipers apart to get the pads out, put it all back together again and bled the brakes

Took the R18 B up through the Adirondacks and up into Canada for the day..

I had zero issues with the Navigation system transitioning between MPH and Km/h; it did the conversion on the TFT display; plus, the map also showed all of the road construction 🚧 areas - it was extremely helpful within Montreal City.

Nice!! I’ll be up that way in the high peaks in a few weeks too.

Custom fabricated to fit the Corbin seat. Ready to Paint. Will be completed this weekend. Need to make the plug for the license plate lights. Even managed to use the stock wiring harness attachment hardware.
No Cutting or splicing of any wiring. All stock parts can be reinstalled in less than an hour.
This is the inside "Hidden under the seat" showing all the connection points and wiring.
PS:
The the wireless key antenna needs to be mounted to the wiring harness coil In the fore ground.
Mounting it directly to the aluminum sheet "as in the photo", the aluminum acts as a RF shield and severely limits the range of th key fob.
Very nice, I am considering similar. You dont happen to have any drawings you could share ?

I am part way through fabricating a lifting plate that attaches to the bottom of the engine using the stock threaded holes, then use a standard bike lift under it as something safe to lift against.
I object to paying a fortune for the third party lifts. When did bikes stop having centre stands fitted as new ? Not bought a bike in a very long time ....

Thanks

Long story short. Metal shavings when changing oil on the Bagger. Been at the dealer for 7 weeks. BMW is replacing the motor under warranty. Stopped in to tell them to remove the pin for the Kern-Stabi stand and was lamenting to the GM about the process and loosing my summer riding season. He suggested trading the bagger for a new one. I said I only wanted the 2023 Mineral White and was very specific on the options.

After a brief search, he found a brand new - still in the crate, 2023 Transcontinental in BMW’s warehouse. Aggressive negotiations ensued and we made the deal. Will post pics when it arrives. Hopefully, I can make an unboxing video or at least take pics when it arrives.

Was able to get them to agree to swap my Shark Road exhaust, KlockWerks windshield and Utopia backrest over to the new bike as well as do the first service into the deal.

Evidently, there are still brand new units in warehouses. BMW corporate kicked in money in order to move this unit. If you are looking, there may still be deals to have. The GM says that BMW still has MY 21 and 22s also.

Just don’t ask for a 2023 TC option 719. Evidently, I got the only one, other than any that might already be on showroom floors. I know there is one at Motorcycles of Dulles in DC, but the owner wouldn’t budge on the price. My deal was much better and I got it from my local dealer.

Was in the process of doing complete service and realized I had used my last factory air filter (thought I still had one more). I ordered a DNA filter and filter cage. Installation was a breeze. From now on I can start my future services with cleaning the reusable filter then allow it to dry while I check/adjust valves and change the fluids.

Do you not need to oil these like on an K&N filter or how do these air filters from DNA work to keep dust out?

Popped on a Freedom mufflers
Popped off the servos and cables.
More power.
Better sound.
No error codes.
Looks better (to me)

Now I just need a better seat but there's nothing out there I like. I like the Air-flow covers --but they don't seem to come for the R18 single seat.

Adding:

A day later and now that I've had it on the road a little more I have to say the increase in HP is significant. Comparing to after the Brentune I did not feel nearly the same boost in HP. Maybe it's everything working together now? The Brentune, the DNA air filter, the new exhaust, the servos removed --it is a friggen rocket now. Feels more responsive too.

I am always thinking of ways to make my Rocky a bit more individual, and always thought the fuel tank looks a bit bland and featureless, so I fitted this centre console along with my Navigation. It was designed for the older Classic and First Edition models but it fits the Roctane perfectly. I am not usually a fan of 'bling' but quite pleased with the look and it might give me stealthy place to put my Jeckyl & Hyde switch.

I bought the RSD solo seat from Motoraad which is an improvement over the stock seat

Tastefully done. Even the glossy GPS looks fine. Though, wish you luck with the Nav VI. When I had my R 1200 GS went thru 3 units all replaced by Garmin due to the ghosting issue. Hope you get lucky.
