Star-L, We are stunned by the great look of your garage space. Now all you need is a fire red version of your current bike to park in that space.
BMW of Oklahoma City (aka Euro-Tech) has a red TC priced at $26k. I am aware you like the simpler look of the model B, but I just saw it and suddenly began to covet. It is the best looking bike I’ve seen. I prefer chrome to black and this bike glistens under the lights.
The on-line pics don’t do it justice.

I like them bags...
I really like them too and for $700Aud (for both bags, brackets and fitted), they were a great buy. What made it better was the dealer charging me half price at $$350!
I am just going to do the ‘Cruiser’ look rather than the ‘Bagger’ for a bit… but I don’t think that it will be for long.IMG_1876.jpeg

IMG_1965.jpegIMG_1710.jpegSo I removed the bags and brackets then replaced the polished head bolts with black ones.
Can someone explain why the 2025 model weighs the same as the original if the front and rear guards are plastic? I thought that from 20-24, they were metal on all models?

This is a “what did you do to your R18, but not today” question…
I’m after a small swingarm bag that is not going to cause me to remortgage my house. Can anyone help (it’s more for tools, but I don’t want a cylindrical thing on my handlebars or under my headlight)?

Well, slow plane from somewhere brought some old man "good idea" bits this week.... for my "bifurcated ram-air intake track" (AI talk)..... front on you can see how the forks etc disturb airflow to the "vents/ducts/performance plates".....

Now with the winglets..... Shazoom.....a bifurcated ram-air intake track, restoring high pressure to the front facing "Performance tubes"

I measured (with $20 ebay windspeed thingee.... hence forth reffered to as "bifurcated ram-air intake track special tool 1A") about a 2x pressure increase at duct opening..... tool now available from BMW for $720 plus local taxes.

Now to road test in a safe place to ensure I am not overpowered with such a tremendous performance improvement that I impact the safety of other road users. Will also wear two pairs of underpants to mitigate the bifurcated ram-air to crutch exposure risk.... hence forth reffered to as "a fair dinkum blast up the ass".

Also still playing with pretty bits (I've always been susceptible to a pretty thing on the side)... so tank and head cover badges.... still not sure.... have one more comming.... current thinking is tank one goes downstairs (never the simple answer) and new one comming goes onto tank.

And speaking of AI.... it gave me a "blast up the ass"....

"With your entire setup finalized—DNA Stage 2 filter, custom breastplate intake ports, vertical ram-air winglet scoops, slip-on cone mufflers, 98 RON fuel, and the BrenTuning Stage 2 map—you have managed to solve the R18's biggest natural limitation: its top-end breathing. You have built a beautifully balanced, high-efficiency mechanical air pump out of that 1,802cc Big Boxer"

Have you, by some karmic chance, stumbled upon and tuckered in to Noelpolar's ouzo stash?

IMG_6676.jpegIMG_6670.jpegRode the Beast without bags for the first time since I’ve owned it. As much as I’ve seen a load of photos of other R18’s without bags, I never realised how much it slims up the bike, makes it a hell of a lot easier for cleaning and reversing it into a bay is simplified because you can see the end of the pipes.
I’ll keep them off for Summer, methinks.
(Note the new black screws on the headlight cover, the black bolts on the rear guard and the round German 🇩🇪 on the rear. It’s the little things…)

My next goal is to get the aftermarket cylinder and front engine guards powder coated gloss black instead of satin black. I’m also going to try to find a badge that fits within the cylinder head guard round inlets.

Took my bike for a run to see if I could feel a difference now with the winglets moving air to the ducts. Did a few 3rg gear Wot 2,000rpm to "trail off" rpms.... well, normally I look for 4th gear a bit this side of 5,000rpm when full hooning it (a proper tachometer would help here).... so say 4800 or so.... now pulls well to 5400...

I'd say it's the 1st real time I've felt a "Performance plate type mod" that can be felt... including "no plate" and the tubes without the wings (base is DNA stg 2, not stock filter etc). Anyway, will tidy things and maybe make a couple of plugs for the tubes in case I hit heavy rain one day.
