Ask the shop, perhaps there is another connection that I need to make; similar to what you had to do under the gas tank. If so, perhaps I'll take a stab at it on a raining day when riding isn't an option; if not this Summer, it would be a great Winter project. Any additional information would be greatly appreciated; if so, I can restore all of the wiring back to stock - including the 12 V accessory outlet.
Hi Scott, sorry I didn't make it by the shop Saturday .. it was bucketing and I really didn't feel it. I will keep that in mind and let you know as soon as I know .. I am really curious myself.

Ulrich, been checking this discussion, hoping for a reply. I have the Bagger, modified the OEM auxiliary lights to mount to my crash bar. Also purchased the wiring harness for the lights. Will the switch activate the lights if plugged into harness under the tank?

I am not certain ... on mine (2021 FE) the lights were installed after the fact and although I do not have the light symbol on the switch they turn on and off just fine, including the green light on the speedo ... I had mixed responses about weather it has to be software enabled or not ... and in the meantime the local dealership folded and is no more ... my closest dealership is now a 350 mile round trip ... I do have the private number of their mechanic (that did the install on mine) and I will ask him next chance i get. Sorry that is all I have for you at this time.

Edit: ... and sorry Scott, I totally lost sight of this thread ...

OK finally had a chance to ask him ... everything minus the wiring extension for the lights was there .. plug in under the gas tank ... and the existing switch (even though it does not have the light symbol) was fully functional AFTER it got software enabled in the control unit ... but .. and here is the catch , that enabling has to be done by a dealer with BMW interface ... that is the best I know at this point.

Scott ... I had aux lights added to my plain FE and my toggle button does not show the light symbol but the switch does turn the lights on and off .. mine were installed by the dealer, it was part of the package that I had haggled out with them ... after the mechanic told me that he was blown away that all the functionality was already there, without having to change the controls .. next chance i get, I will ask him if there was something in the ECU/Software that had to be enabled to make it work.
Ulrich - do you think your BMW contact can point out the specific wiring plug that needs to be mated up for the Auxiliary Lights switch to work from the attached picture?

I will most certainly ask him ... btw. he is not with BMW anymore, he was their head mechanic, the dealership closed and he went Indi and opened his own shop.
I will text him the pic and ask him :)

Hi Ulrich, is this the contact point you’re talking about? I am attaching after market fog lights and a BMW mechanic told me the contact point was under the tank but it makes more sense this one above the battery

Oof .. that was 1 1/2 years ago ... I can't remember what I had for breakfast LOL ... but I don't think hat one is it ... I would have to pull the tank off to really look and I won't be able to do that until the weekend ... sorry ... what you can try is, see if there is 12V (give or take) on this connector and it should be switchable with the button that is on the 'Mode' switch ... but on the bottom side of the switch where there is no marking ... so instead of toggling upwards toggle downwards ... if that makes sense.

Hi Ulrich. - it’s ok. - what I decide is to have a separate switch mounted on the handle bars and connecting directly on the battery aux ports on both sides of the bike - I’ll send you pics tomorrow to verify - thanks for your quick reply 🙏

If you have a R18B, the aux light power connect is under the front windscreen to the bottom left of the headlight. Connector is capped off, the left and right blinkers are on the corresponding sides about the middle of the headlight.

Hi. - is there a special switch to plug in in that accessory external power hole?
In the original thread, there is a PDF which shows the below images; I used a switch which accommodates a 16 mm mounting hole.

Others have been successful in using the Mode Switch which is typically used on the TV to toggle the Auxiliary Lights ON/OFF, and also see the Aux Light indicator on the TFT to work.

I tried several times, as this was my initial plan from the beginning; I even tried after I received my GS-911 to make changes - for whatever reason, I've been unsuccessful - I see 12 V for 5 seconds or so, then it deactivates..
