Windshield / Windscreen options?

My guess is that there is a small sensor in the TFT as I have not seen/noticed anything else anywhere else that looks like a sensor.
Normally in a car, the sensor is incorporated at the rear view mirror base, pointing outwards through the windshield, you can see a small photocell that is quite masked for aesthetics.

I think that sensor is a radio signal one only found on the US models as far as I am aware. In Europe we don’t have that sensor and we do have automatic lighting on the bike.
 
I just looked through the manual and cannot find a picture or description of what that thing is. Any help would be appreciated.

The piece you pictured is possibly just decoration. No wiring of any sort going to that part
 
That plastic piece on the dashboard is a RF transparent cover that allows the AM/FM radio receiver to get GPS for Navigation and XM radio; if you pull the dash cover up & off, you will see a small GPS antenna puck mounted underneath the area where that piece sits.

I've mounted my EZ-Pass underneath my dashboard so I don't see it, and anyone admiring my bike doesn't see it and become tempted to steal it...

I am 6’3” with a 33” inseam. I bought the Puig and I like the way it looks and I like its functionality. It was inexpensive, is well made and fairly straightforward to install. I don’t experience any buffeting in the helmet and took the wind blast off my chest. No more hanging on for dear life at speeds above 60 mph. If a quick release had been optional for a reasonable price I likely would have gone in that direction. Reality is that the shield would remain on the bike 95% of the time anyway so I am very pleased with my purchase.

Is this windshield the Puig "Touring" REF 20527 that mounts at the front and next to the brake/clutch levers?
