Plugged my GS-911 into my R18...
ABS unit is something totally new, not recognized at all. Alarm system, engine, instrument cluster and lighting controller are all existing units, Bike family not known. Working with HexCode on all the dumps to see what they find.

I got my GS-911 to perform the AutoScan function with my laptop attached. I'm beta testing their new code for the R18. You can contact them directly if you want to help.

Do either of you have any experience with the GS-911 and iPad/iPhone? There's an app with mixed reviews. Some functionality not accessible, etc.

Great! Thanks. Would you recommend that I wait a bit so that it works as intended with the R18, or are there anticipated software updates, etc? Or does it work as intended now?

Good afternoon. Any word from HexCode? I am needing to reset my service light.

Hi Enzo5000. You are apparently well versed in modern BMW ownership.
I see that Amazon lists the GS-911 and it appears that it does not come with the necessary pigtail to connect to the motorcycle. It also refers models to as WIFI & USB. Can you please clue in us guys who are new to owning a modern BMW? What model of GS-911 and cables are needed for diagnostic testing and code resetting? Are there issues that such a new BMW model may not be addressed with the GS-911? Are you aware of better sources to obtain one, beyond Amazon.com?

The GS911 plugs directly into the rectangular OBD-II Diagnostic connector located behind the right side panel. You can get basic info using the App with a smartphone. To drill down into the more sophisticated info you need to connect to a Windows computer via the usb cable after you’ve installed the GS911 software.

Thanks for the info Enzo5000!
So the GS-911 wifi with OBD-II Connector is the one to get? Do we need any special connector cable?

Page 102 in the owners manual. If a all else fails......
As they in Brazil, "Que porra isso"

Thanks. I have checked out the owner's manual. But it's not especially clear in so far as whether or not the GS-911 requires a cable/pigtail to connect to the R18. It this point, it appears that no interfacing cable is needed.

Depends which GS 911 iteration you have.
As enzo5000 stated,
"The GS911 plugs directly into the (rectangular OBD-II) Diagnostic connector located behind the right side panel."
Self explanatory. There are even instructions on how to access the plug.
The picture on page 102 actually shows the ODb-II rectangular plug.
See Dunning for more information.

The day after I ordered a GS-911 on Amazon for $400 they're posted for $300!
It says there are 5 in stock. Those who want one should strike while the iron's hot!!

Is all the software and hardware and firmware updated and compatible with the R18? Full-functionality?

Addendum: I see it says compatible with all models after 2017 but I’m not seeing confirmation on the hex code website. Only mention is here:

From a November firmware update. Also I would need the WiFi version. No windows in my house.

The upgrade for support of the R18 is not yet released. I wish they'd hustle up!! Waiting on this, and accessories, and a Repair Manual DVD is crazy!! If I'd only known all of this when I decided to purchase my R18...I expected better out of BMW...

Bummer. I’ll be waiting as well

If you are in an all fired hurry, you could always take it to the dealer. I am sure that for them to just clearing a fault code would be much less than the cost of a GS 911, you could probably get the first service done too in the bargain. Or just take it for the first service, which I always have done by the dealer anyway, and the will clear all the fault codes as part of the service.

Have the dealer do the first service, resetting the service light is included.
Todays scan turned up 3 fault codes, reset, no sweat.
Also reset fault codes and service reminder on the K1600B.
Works just fine.

I should've included the fact that I already own a GS-911 and do all of my own service/maintenance including the first service. But thank you!
