Hi, Thanks for the advice... I was thinking XXL as well.. Back in the good old days (read K1200LT days) BMW used to sell covers for specific bikes, I had one for my KLT. I was hoping they still did but evidently don't do this any more. Any particular brand you would go with?
Hello all;
I need to find a cover for my 22 Transcontinental. Where it will be stored between outings is a pretty dusty place. I see a bunch of "universal" covers out there (i.e. carcoversfactory.com) but am looking for some recommendations if possible. I am also debating as to indoor or...
I've ridden about 25 years now, all kinds of bikes, mostly BMWs but some others tossed in. Yes, I went through my Harley period, which ended around 2014, had too many of them to tell the truth. My bike today is the 2022 TC pictured. Overall, I really like the bike, seat included... I have...
I understand your point... My concern comes from experience. Years ago I enrolled in the intermediate motorcycle safety course up in New Jersey. I rode my basically new Harley Road King. I'm doing the exercises as instructed, the bike idling all the time. Toward the afternoon I see smoke...
Who knows. But if you think about it that gauge does not serve their product well.. I have never looked at it and said to myself "wow, that's great". What I usually think is "wow, that's all that is left!" Seriously however if anyone runs across an oil temp gauge for this bike please share...
Does anyone make an oil temperature gauge for the R18? Seems to me that knowing oil temp, particularly here in Florida is important. IMHO having that as opposed to the "power meter" on the dash of the TC would make better sense.
A couple of reasons why I went from my K1600B to the R18TC had to do with maintenance. On the boxer, I expect to be able to do the routine stuff myself. The other reason was what the dealer was looking to get for milestone routine maintenance. The bagger was coming up on the 16,000 mile...
You are correct, Wunderlich makes them and they are about $60 each. Whoever owned my bike before me spent the $$ on them and yes it looks like he replaced the whole set of shifter levers which is obviously more money. The front peg is adjustable meaning that you can actually increase or...
I have no idea but I totally agree with you about the stock pedal. My research has come up with nothing. They do make longer pegs for the shifter but not for this. Personally, I think the current set up is a bit unsafe... Just my two cents.
Hi David, Trust me, I just requested an appointment and stated that the cause was the Navigation not working due to backdated software. I bought this bike used with only 1800 miles on it so my guess is that there is no warranty (?). Regardless, I can still push them on it. Given how...
Hi David, First, thank you for sharing! I suspect that my problem is that I do not have the latest software installed on the bike. I have the other settings as you have mentioned. Even with the correct iPhone settings it is hit or miss. Right now, my major symptom is that the phone appears...
Hi, Thanks for this insight. I was poking around that wifi list and eliminated all the old networks which I have picked up over time. I was looking at those settings and was wondering how they may impact the process. I've just shut off the Private Address setting and will head out to the...
Pulling my hair out here, or what is left of it. I cannot get my iPhone to consistently recognize and then link to the wifi which the bike puts out to facilitate the map, etc. to the screen. It is always hit or miss, mostly miss, very frustrating.
Here is what I have been doing..
1 - turn on...
Hi, Yes, I did find some of posts you have called out. I also did find what I believe is the OBD2 port on the bike, right side. Problem is that connector does not match the Brentune connector which is standard OBD2. So what I am trying to find out is if there is an adaptor of sorts needed to...
