Changed the 1.5” riser for the 4” (bmw original parts). Combination of Walzwerk bar and higher/nearer risers as the low ones took a toll on neck and back after 200km days.
These seem to give a more relaxed seating position.

Got a message back from Arnott, they are slightly behind the plan of release but still positive in their intent it seems.
Regarding the range for those wondering (copy/paste from their mail):
The suspension range will be about 90mm (approx.. +40/-50mm measured at the center of the rear wheel)...
Outside of a few over-the-top builds from Kodlin and Zillers I haven't seen any air suspensions being created for the R18.
After some searching I found that Arnott has promised to create one: https://arnottcycles.eu/blogs/news/coming-soon-the-first-air-ride-for-the-bmw-r18-series
Is anyone...
Not on the R18. Had a Buell XB in the past that I got converted to the rear wheel of a breakout. Loved the look, hated what it did to the handling to be honest. Cornering lost a bit of its ease and flickiness. For our cruisers probably not an issue given our lower lean angles to begin with...
Thanks, I now saw they also have pullback variants so that is already one I am bookmarking in case no barback extensions can be had. Thanks for the help @MilwDave !
Correct, that is the big benefit of the 1inch bar. Yet can’t seem to find a provider for black riser extension pieces with pullback offset. (All those seem either 22 or 28mm bar). Any good producer you know that might have those? Would prefer to keep the black BMW riser given its cost if at all...
A while ago I switched to a Walzwerk handlebar with bar-end blinkers. Given that that was a good time to blacken out the front I ordered the black risers from BMW at the dealership.
Although it works (am 6ft tall) it is hardly comfortable. (Really far stretch forward to do 100km commutes in)...
Thanks @blues n twos , I got it coated black (as did the ring around the headlight for example). I do expect that it will match the black of the exhaust even more as it gets more mileage but time well tell.
hello from Belgium, 40+ male and roughly 20 years of riding. Lots of bikes past in those years. Bmw wise a 1200gsa that I enjoyed for years and then a s1000rr that I only had for 6 months as it just didnt fit my commuting needs.
2-3 times a week, 100km single distance and mainly highway and...
