The study was done by an independent lab with a good reputation, but everyone is free to believe it or not, whatever you choose for whatever reasons. The good thing is that we are all free to buy whatever we want.

I use anything with the correct specs. Currently have Motul 7100 for the engine. Was too good an offer to refuse otherwise would have gone for Putoline. Jan Put was a 'feature' at the racing tracks.

The best reputed motor magazines write the word of whose bread they eat.
Been there, did that, went do something else.
Even been an 'independent' free lance. Incl. dabbling on the interweb when blogging did not exist yet. Still ate bread with preferably something else.

I've done plenty of oil analysis tests on many engines for many years running all types of oil. When you see the results Amsoil does not perform better than other high quality oils. Redline, Motul, Maxima, Torco and many others are just as good as Amsoil. Oil types are based on formulations, additives and base stocks. There are no secret formulations only different formulations using different blends. Amsoil will not even publish their base oils they are using. Polyol Ester synthetics used in both Motul and Redline are known to be the best available as far as temperature stability and being naturally multi-viscosity. I don't want to develop a new oil thread here as those just get ridiculously out of control. Run what you like that meets the spec. The R18 is not a highly stressed engine, it will last a long time, I'll leave it at that.

I was just being silly lol!
The loud pipes debates.... best oil to use.... to darkside or not....stabil or non ethanol.... helmet laws....lane splitting.. etc. All seem to get alot of us riled up sometimes
