Is it $400 if you don’t un-tune? I thought it was $200 for either case.

Sucks though, and I should have waited after they removed my reverse wires to redo the BT. I’ll be asking BT for an update whenever they get to the fix here in the states. Impatience gonna cost me yet again.
Hi Big Jim
$400 if you don't remove the tune prior to sending in the bike, and the tune is wiped off as part of any ECU mod's.
$200 if you did remove the map prior to visiting the dealership.

Below, is a further reply from BTmoto as to how I can confirm if I need the full hit program and license, or just the program mod'.

Took my Classic in yesterday for the fix & got it back today. I can go back to parking it in the wheel chock now!
That's great news! I'm pleased that BMW have started rolling this out, wasn't too sure about how they were going to handle it. Thanks for letting the community know.

I got on the schedule for April 4th. My local dealer only ordered four recall parts kits, so I'm glad I called when I did so I could get one of them reserved.

I just dropped my R18 B off at the service shop here in New Jersey to have new Metzeler Cruisetec tires installed, as well as having the Reverse functionality restored; I got a good look at the following new parts:

New wire harness with a BOSH relay
Mounting Bracket
New DC Cables
Plastic Cover

Picked up the R18 B today, which had the following recall campaigns completed:

HeadLight & Reverse functionality restored, plus new Metzeler Cruisetec tires installed; one note though, the dealership charged me an additional $240 for two additional hours of labor because my Model B has the Jekyll & Hyde Exhaust system on it ... They're saying it's extra work compared to removing the stock exhaust in order to remove the rear wheel.

Anyway, Reverse is now officially restored vs my restoration effort AND I feel as though the ride had much less road noise with the new tire brand... I'll try and keep my ear to the rail as its still too early to tell, but the ride home was smooth and I never once heard that hollow bell sound that we've all been chasing...

Oh yeah, and I think they updated my bike's S/W version: 014_013_030

Darn it, I forgot I wanted the waxed canvas tail bag for my R18. The fix is in and I never had my reverse disabled. I need new tires a brake bleeding and a valve adjustment so they are replacing the reverse gear wiring and all that other stuff in a couple of weeks. If I would have just taken the bike in I would have gotten that bag for free. I told myself there were no R18 accessories I wanted. Id love floorboards but I know Id scrape them badly

I'm interested to hear how you like the Metzelers. I will either go with them or Continental when it's time. Micheline would normally be high on my list. I'm surprised at all the problems people have had with their cruisers tires.
