I think you do not understand the reasoning behind my "unhappiness"...

This bike sucks! Big time... not the price of it I was able to get it for, nor the purchasing conditions. Of course I expect to lose $$$ when I sell a bike.
Like I mentioned before I buy and sell one to two brand new bikes a year since the last 20-22 years... BMWFS reps recognize my voice on the phone by now.
BUT and it is a biiiig BUT, "Those bikes were fun to ride..."

if this bike was a decent bike and fun to ride too then I won't mind keeping it.
Unfortunately this is not a decent bike nor fun to ride for me and every time I look at it, I feel disgusted as it reminds me it is a waste of $$$$$ sitting in the garage and collecting dust almost since 47 weeks of the past year.
I take it out once a month to ride 4-5 miles in town and sits again until next month or two.
June 2024 will be anniversary of the purchasing this shaky behemoth!

Tomorrow I'll be going with few other friends to a 5 day tour of Grand Canyon, Sedona and Zion, Bryce, Mexican Hat, Valley of the Gods etc...
One of our riding buddies passed away at age 62. He was planning this ride before his passing and this ride was in his honor and memory. So I am going just because of that reason. If it wasn't for honoring his memory I wouldn't go even if they paid me. This is how much I "love" this bike!

After every bike I sold in the last 20+ years, when buyers ride away with my bike after the transaction completed I've felt a little sadness.
When I see this one leaving my driveway, I am planning to organize a neighborhood BBQ party!
You are all invited!
I've done that almost same exact ride through the National Parks on a HD Street Glide; I can only imagine what a great ride it would be on my R18 Model B; I feel like I ride my R18 B a little faster in the Twisties with my R18 ...

Anyways... Try and remain positive, stay safe while riding and perhaps the TC will grow on you...

Maybe switch it up with another bike...?

Bike is as good as and problem free as BMW intended. But "me" purchasing it was the biggest mistake. I normally ride about 10,000 miles a year on all my bikes. I bought this one on June 2023 as brand new from the dealership and after 350miles riding to home since then only put 2100 miles on it and sitting in the garage. That tells you how much I like(!) this bike. I can't sell it too. Dealerships offering the same bike at 0 miles for $17,000-$18000 range while I owe on it $21,500... If anybody offers me $18,000 they can have it today the darn thing.

B models may have a better following since their prices were milder too but this behemoth has no following, no second hand market value, not agile, not enough power, nothing... Especially when I compared my last GSA1250 or R1250RT before that one...
This feels like the BMW's biggest marketing mistake same as the New Coke screwed up and decided to return to Classic Coke...
No idea why they felt to mess up the perfectly good market for their lineup with this crap... No wonder they are trying to give them away with unbelievable incentives...
No pay for the first 90 days then BMW pays your first4 months...
Try to get any other BMW model with that kind of incentive... See if it's possible... They don't even offer the same incentives on used biker pants with BMW logo on them...
Oh well, I guess in 48 years of riding I am entitled to have one accident and it happened in the form of me purchasing this @#$%& !
;)
Well, one mistake after 50 years!! That's pretty damn good. Bikes like boats are like heaven and hell, a fantastic experience one day, a F'ing nightmare the next. I bought a R18 Anniversary model on the spot with no intention of doing so. I'm a canyon rider and this is not a good choice. I vacillate between WTF did I do, and trying to be somewhat grateful that at pushing 68 years old I can easily handle a bike....I bought the bike off of looks primarily.
The bike is gorgeous and the tooling impeccable. I also don't have a lot of the tech and gadgets some of the other R18 version have, that I don't need or want. My thinking also was that the anniversary model would attempt to hold it's value somewhat, which is why I'm not fooling with it, removed the rear seat and pegs, and threw some Roland Sands valve cover guards on it and i"m done. If I tried to sell it today with 650 miles on it, cleaner than when it left the floor, who's gonna buy it in this liquid shit economy??? No one.
I guess my point, most guys think about getting a bike, but never do. We at least HAVE and can complain about it!!!
Cheers....

I feel the need to scream this to everybody because I truly feel this is ridiculous. I got my R18 about a month ago and I stopped at eurocycle in Las Vegas for the 600 miles service. $850.07 USD!!! not joking take a look at my receipt.
If by any means BMW sees this post let me tell you I have had 3 BMW bikes and this is the first one I get in vegas since I moved here. Never in my life I have paid this for a service.
I would love to see the price other riders pay in other locations. God bless you all
I was quoted $800 by a dealer in Los Angles! Yes, $800!

I had negotiated the first 600 mile break in service to be included, when I purchased my bike back in 2022; the sales person said it was a $400 value...

It's getting close to that time, when I need to go purchase oil fluids, a new air and oil filter for the end of Summer riding season..

That's unbelievable for what an oil and filter

I forget what I paid for the engine oil, oil filter, air filter, transmission and rear gear oil in total - I do remember thinking it was pretty expensive..... +$300

I had my one year service done last week, just the normal checks plus oil, filter and final drive oil... $440aud... so say $300us.

More then my "do it yourself" cheap ass want's to pay, but in Australia you need a "proper person" to service it if you want to keep your warranty dreams alive.... and my BMW dealer doesn't charge much more then an independant.

Fwiw..... I actually enjoy working on my bikes, so will probally start doing that and not worry about dealer servicing in year 3 to 5 even though the bike has a 5 year warranty.... and these bikes are so easy to work on once you sort out lifting them.

This is just the beginning of your adventure(s)
One other thing. Maybe you don't know what BMW truly stands for. No, it's not Bavarian Motor Works.
It stands for Break My Wallet! You're on a path of discovery right now.
Good luck to you!

Calboy aren't you the one who sold his BMW bike and trying to sell off parts? I'm not sure, but I think I saw somewhere where you are trying to sell a Chinese made heel/toe shifter for 3 times what they cost new on eBay...the same exact one. You sound very bitter?

Here is the product made in Germany that I purchased from Creative Cycle Concepts for $449.00 plus tax.
Maybe you enjoy subpar products from China and some other sh_t hole countries .
These cockroaches copy the original designs, which is an infringement of copyright laws , and then sell their shit to people like yourself on EBay and make you believe you got a great deal.
I am unpleasantly surprised by the fact that EBay doesn't seem to care about these serious infringements, which in fact are nothing short of stolen intellectual property.
Don't tell me you're five years old and knew nothing about these kind of things.

Let me tell you about me. I am the perfect business partner to anybody, because I buy high and I sell low.
I lose big money each and every time I try to sell anything that it cost me an arm and a leg to purchase.
But you knew that already based on the arrogant statement you made about the item(s) I'm selling, the margin of profit I'm gonna make, and the knockoffs one can get for pennies to the dollar.
Do I sound bitter now?
P.S. Hey, Ulrich, what was there to like about 1911tex's post? The nonsense in full display or the utter stupidity of it?
