I'm not sure I agree....at least not for me. I may be in the minority, but I find that a GPS screen, particularly when it's big, is distracting and doesn't add much value. I find that the safest and most reliable way to navigate is to link my phone to my headset and just listen to the directions. It's really very good nowadays. Directions from connected devices are almost always better than standalone devices and I'd rather have my eyes on the road than on a screen. I have an R1250GS with the OEM Garmin device, and while I do let the thing do its moving map thing, I don't pay much attention to it. In-ear directions are much better. Having a relatively small and out of the way map is nice for situational awareness, but I would actively avoid a large screen that's front and center.
