I've had my C since February although recently, the 100+ degree heat makes it tough to find ride time. What I enjoy about the R18 is the simplicity of the instrumentation, the stock exhaust note and the striking style. The ride is what I wanted and expected. The stock seat is adequate for...
I ordered the RevIt Torque but the European style/cut isn't conducive to my manly full figure as the XXL was too tight. Cant' find a XXXL. The Eclipse may have the same issue. The Coretech/Tourmaster line seems like a viable option. They provide level 2 protection where many in the same price...
The jacket topic has been visited but I'm curious what options you (or an associate) might use during the dog days of summer. In Texas this week, we're looking at 100 degree plus days every day. Even in the am, it hits 90 pretty early. I've decided a mesh jacket is about my best option and...
These are the 800lb gorillas in the room and I'm on board with both comments. Secondly, buyers tend to fall in love with looks and perceptions vs taking a hard look at features to capabilities. You can tour on any bike as long as you understand the limitations and set expectations. So my only...
I'm under the impression that these listings require a posted price as well as no auction type listings.
Not trying to bust anyone's chops. Just passing it along.
And it happens...
Related story. In 1986 i looked for a classic sports car to drive as a weekender. An ad took me to a seller that had a 68 Shelby GT350 Convert ($15k) and a 71 Pantera de Tomasso. ($10k) I ended up with a 69 Porsche soft top targa. Still a great, fun car but oh, boy I wish I'd...
As a Classic owner who originally test rode the Pure, Im glad I made the move up. I'm relatively easy to please but when something bugs me, it seems to stick. I go into motorcycle purchases a little differently. I look at a bike and think, "If I can't spend the $$ (hey life happens) to mod it...
Many of us have the Memphis shades lower fork deflectors. It reduced the air flow coming in up over the tank but beneath the windshield on a Classic.

They slip together. I started at the base of the...
These are low rpm motors. I *think* redline is about 5k (someone correct me).
Break in milage is about 600-700 miles.
** Redline is 5750 according to BMW specs
I rarely used the sound system on my Road Glide but in truth, it was an older (2008) model. I use a Freecom1+ on a modular Scorpion helmet that provides me music, allows to to see calls and turn by turn directions. That's about all I need as I really enjoy the simplicity of the single gauge. I...
This is what I've been using for the last 5-6 years. Really good down to about 40F and the inner lining zips out making it comfortable to about 85F-88F. Been looking for an inexpensive mesh jacket for summer when it's 90F-98F. Yesterday was 102F. I'm not a black leather guy.
As a Classic owner, I'm curious what you don't like about it. It isn't perfect of the showroom floor but with a few minor adjustments, upgrades and mods, mine is exactly what I need and want, a medium range touring/knock around the metro cruiser and commuter. Was the B not available when you...
As a newly retired rider, (retired on 4/1 - my boss thought it was an April Fools joke) I love the idea of just taking off in the morning for a 45 minute mental reset. Unfortunately here in Texas, summers are flipping brutal. Saturday was 104, yesterday 106 and a summery 102 today. As I ride in...
I'm going with a gel insert first just to keep the lines of the original seat. I've looked at You Tube tutorials and I think I can manage it if I'm careful. If that fails, onto the Day Rider.
That's a shame. As someone who just retired as well, it is easy to get carried away with new toys. I bought a Classic and could have fallen prey to other purchases if not for my daughter's wedding (read: blown budget by SWMBO) which takes place this week. Someone will get a great deal on a...
I'm doing a gel insert on the factory seat as I like the profile. The stock seat leaves a lot to be desired for a ride lasting more than an hour. The lean on the side stand is significantly better than the "jiffy stand" on my previous Road Glide. It always felt like it was about to fall over.
