    Oil pressure sender

I looked all over. I cannot find an oil pressure sensor. I looked at the Fiche, nothing. I have motoscan, its not one of the PIDs. No zero oil pressure warning on the bike. I really want to screw a gauge in it, but can't find where. I need to look closer at the cooler.

    New brakes

My rear brake pads were looking thin. I bought a set of EBC HH (sintered) pads and put them on. Rear breaking improved by a bunch. SO, I did the fronts too. I have better brakes. OE Pads said Brembo on them. For wear indicators, the OE pads have a small corner of metal that will hit...

    Changing oil cold

I am a life long mechanic. I change the oil in my bike when its hot. I fill the filter, Upon restart, it rattles and clangs until oil pressure is up. If I do it cold, I hear nothing different than a regular cold start. (no noise) Doing it this way from now on. There has to be a chain...

    Rear Shock

I bought the Progressive rear shock with adjustable rebound and compression. Installed it is better than the original, but still stiff. With a passenger it was great. Well, I lost 40 lbs and ditched my pillion, so a total of 200lbs. I now ride solo at 170 lbs. I had the rebound on 6...

    Flap Valves

I unhooked the cables from the flap valves in the exhaust. I unhooked the cables by loosening the whole control unit and moving it closer to the valves to get some slack in the cables. Not exactly an easy task. I went about 3 miles tonight, could not tell. I am getting better at leaning...

    Front suspension

I did the check, measured sag in the front like I did in the back. It works out to 33mm which is just about 1/3 of the 100 mm travel. That is with me on it. It seems to be a little stiff compared to my other bikes. Wondering if lighter oil would help? The suspension has loosened...

    Valve adjust

5,000 miles, so I changed motor oil and filter, took out the top spark plugs, Adjusted the valves, and changed the FD fluid again. FD fluid looked good. First time looked terrible, but it did on my last new one. I called MAX BMW for info, .2 to.3 mm for intake and exhaust. David was...

    Engine heat

After doing 250 miles on a 90*f day, I found heat from the engine is negligible. Even sitting still, the engine heat does not get to my body. Getting better all the time. I have a gold wing and it bakes me at stop lights. I have to put my feet on highway pegs to keep them cool when its...

    I gave it a flogging

I went to a Chrome Head Tech day. They change tires, install electrical things, sleep outside, and have a good time. These folks have been around since the first chrome head came out. There were a few CLC 1200 and other versions. I have been to these tech days before, so I thought I HAD to...

    Looking for Lowers

I put the laminar lip on my bike. Its much better, I still need to get rid of a small amount of buffeting and the noise in my helmet. I can feel the air going up my chest and into my helmet from the bottom. This makes a lot of noise. If I block the air coming up , the noise goes away. I...

    IDLES LIKE CRAP IN ROCK

Something tells me that I will not be able to get this to idle smooth in ROCK. It sounds terrible. Anyone tried to smooth it out? I usually leave it in ROLL so when I stop, it does not shake and sputter while sitting at a light or when ever. Its smooth as can be. It should do that...

    Motoscan

I ordered the adapter and bought the premium software. I hooked it up to the bike. The bike had some codes stored and I cleared them. I could see a lot of Data, like RPM, engine temp, Fuel injector time, ignition timing. There are 33 parameters. Oil temp, intake air temp, and "Coolant...
